OPENING CEREMONY, COCKTAIL AND CHEF’S PRESENTATIONS

Festivities begin with a Mexican themed party alongside our pool deck, where celebrity chefs will meet and mingle with guests, while serving up fantastic two-bite hors d’oeurves in their Mexican themed tents. At this sensational opening event, which features great wines and tequila tasting and a sensational line up of local and international music, Chef Betty Vázquez, who will be introduced as Riviera Nayarit’s Ambassador, will delight with an outdoor demo and introduction to the Mexican culture and its cuisine.   A spectacular firework show will light up the sky, while the hotel culinary crew ends the night with the most outrageous display of chocolates and desserts to satisfy your sweet tooth and cravings.

THURSDAY – April 27th
COOKING CLASS 

Participating guests learn a few tricks of the trade during three different cooking shows, which feature the talents of Chef Cloyce Martin at 10:00 am, Chef Rahm Fama at 10:30 am and Mixologist Davina Thomasula at 11 o’clock, at La Casona, Villa La Estancia’s eclectic Mexican steakhouse.

CHOPPED CHALLENGE BY ALASKA AIRLINES AND SUGARFOODS

On the terrace of El Patron, Chef Penny Davidi hosts the first of many Chopped Challenges, sponsored by Alaska Airlines and SugarFoods, where participants accompanied by celebrities Michele Ragussis, Martita Jara and Chris Kyler collaborate to create unique dishes with a limited array of ingredients.

TALK SHOW STYLE & COOKING CLASS

Join the stars for 2 hours of hot topics, great demos with audience participation and a heated Q&A at La Casona, as the celebrity chefs put it all on the table.  Participating guests learn a few tricks of the trade during the talk show and demonstration, which stars Penny Davidi, Michele Ragussis, Martita Jara and Chris Kyler.

CHOPPED CHALLENGE BY ALASKA AIRLINES AND SUGARFOODS

Penny Davidi hosts another Chopped Challenge on the terrace of El Patron, sponsored by Alaska Airlines and SugarFoods, which pits pairs of celebrities, including Dakota Weiss, Davina Thomasula, Cloyce Martin, Rahm Fama, and guest participants against one another for a spot in the Chopped Challenge Grand Finale.

In this Great Twitter Party our Celebrity Chefs and friends of the International Gastronomic Festival “”Cuisine of the Sun”” will share about what happens in the Festival, their experiences and Vallarta-Nayarit as a gastronomic destination in Mexico using the hashtag #CuisineoftheSunFest.

The party is open to everyone and will allow participants to interact with the Celebrity Chefs and friends on this social network and also have the opportunity to win passes for the Exclusive Closure Event of the Cuisine of The Sun Festival in which a Dinner Party at the Beach, and a Fashion Show and Rock Concert will take place.

Participating guests learn a few tricks of the trade at La Casona, Villa La Estancia’s eclectic Mexican steakhouse, as Dakota Weiss at 10:00 am, Pat Neely at 10:30 am and Chef Betty Vázquez tantalizes the audience with her sensational culinary creations in an equisite cooking display at 11:00 am.

Israel Diaz puts on a poolside mixology demo at 1:00 PM that highlights the intricacies of the profession and garners excitement right before the Chopped Challenge.

Join us for the most spectacular beach party in Mexico where all the chefs prepare their signature dishes, with Chef Pat Neely who will tantalize palates with his incredible BBQ.  Come dance under the stars as the hottest local bands entertain and the finest lingerie, swim suits and diamonds steal the show, in a spectacular event that features international models, draped in millions of dollrs in jewels.  Closing the event is a fireworks extravaganza that will blow away any 4th of July party!
