April 2016 proved to be a sensational month for the culinary talents and enthusiastic foodies that participated in the Cuisine of the Sun International Food and Wine Festival at Villa La Estancia Riviera Nayarit. The luxurious all-inclusive resort in Mexico hosted the first of an annual festival aimed at putting the spotlight on the gourmet creations and spectacular talents of world-renowned chefs and mixologists. For five days, from April 13th to the 17th, these gifted individuals treated guests and various celebrity personalities to spectacular demonstrations, cooking classes and more.
The success of this year’s Cuisine of the Sun Festival is due in part to the incredible talent of Penny Davidi, a Food Network Celebrity Chef and US FOODS Culinary Specialist, who helped coordinate the event alongside the professional staff at Villa La Estancia Riviera Nayarit.
Making the festival even more sensational were Food Network stars Michele Ragussis, Adam Gertler, Patrick “Pat” Neely, Manouschka Guerrier, and Martita Jara, in addition to Stephan Kalt, Betty Vázquez and Rahm Fama, three national and international chefs who have garnered a significant amount of acclaim for their superior culinary talent and rich flavors. Adding to the flair of the Cuisine of the Sun Festival was Mia Mastroianni, a cocktail engineer who served up a spectacular array of drinks to accompany the world-class food and lively entertainment.
Guests of Villa La Estancia and Villa del Palmar Flamingos had the incredible opportunity to watch the chefs in action as they wowed participants at the various cooking demos, wine tastings, mixology demonstrations and beachfront soirées. The various chefs and celebrity guests mingled with participants during the cooking demonstrations at La Casona, the resort’s world-class restaurant, at the white party held on the pristine beach outside the resort and during the Chopped Challenges, where festival attendees and celebrity chefs competed for the grand prize of a five-day stay at the all-inclusive resort courtesy of Sugar Foods and The Villa Group. All in all, the Cuisine of the Sun Festival at Villa La Estancia Riviera Nayarit turned out to be a spectacular event.
